Milk before bed

Milk supposedly doesn’t help you get to sleep, but it helps you maintain deeper levels of sleep when you DO sleep. I drink warm milk about half an hour before lights out (with a little vanilla and a tiny bit of chocolate syrup) and I think it helps me get to sleep, too. It makes my tummy all warm and when your body temp drops it is supposed to make you sleepy.
