Stockpile Alley

Posted by Pyrrh on November 2nd, 2007

Okay, if you can’t tell by the pics, I am really sick today, and bored, lol. So here is “Stockpile Alley.” Keep in mind that we keep storage for a year, so we need lots of space.
I still haven’t gotten the pegboard up yet.

Remember this is space for a YEAR storage and not 12 weeks like you need to make GG work. So don’t get scared, lol!

The can racks are from Shelf Reliance“. You deposit the cans at the top and they roll down to the bottom, so it is always first in first out. It is also good because you should regularly turn your cans over while storing them – this does the task for you, in a sense! Those are their largest sized rotation systems.

I get the huge bags of Science Diet adult cat food for $6.25 a bag, thanks to my cat shelter connections. :) It is great food, but I wish I could get the light adult for a similar price – it is $27 a bag! The kitten is free, provided by the shelter since I’m the orphaned kitten specialist, but we only have one kitten left and she’ll be going to adoption soon. And our own kitten is old enough to eat adult food, now. (He’s the blue kitty on the right of my signature. You can’t tell very well but he’s a polydactyl on all four paws!) I can’t accept any more foster babies until after MY baby, so I’ll probably send this bag back. I love my adult cats, but I really do miss the kitten rodeo tearing around my house all the time!

We had ordered our original in white, but they called and asked if we wanted black instead, since they were backordered on the white. So although we expected black, we got the tan instead, LOL! But honestly – the tan will be easier to keep clean than either the black OR the white – it won’t show dust as fast, either. So we’re actually quite pleased with the mistake!
