KEEP UP with… laundry!

Posted by Pyrrh on April 23rd, 2010

I got my morning chores done, cleaned the bedroom, vacuumed the house, and got one basket of laundry put away. I’m good at getting it washed, just not so good at getting it into the closet, even though my Mom does the folding. That is the hard part for me; putting away clothes really shouldn’t be that difficult. Well, it IS hard when I have to keep Dot and cats out of the closet at the same time. It doesn’t really take too long, though, I just need to keep up with it. What was my motto again? KEEP UP is easier than CATCH UP! Especially since I already have time set aside to do it. It is time I got back to my house rescue hour – I know I have enough stamina for at least HALF an hour of it!

More dental work

Posted by Pyrrh on April 21st, 2010

Went to the dentist this morning; he took impressions of two back teeth for gold crowns and replaced the temporaries. Only had about four vials of lidocaine this time. Thank goodness all I have left is a visit to install the crowns. Getting some final equillibration afterwards is no big deal and no needles, either. My teeth feel pretty stable now and my jaw is fantastic. He then tried to buff out a flaw in one of my front teeth and now it looks a lot worse. =( We’ve deduced that it is from the bleeding when he put them in; my gums were still bad from the temps in addition to being swollen from being pregnant. He is going to replace it at no charge but we need to wait until after the baby is born – like December or so! I’m hoping for mid-November; then maybe I can get it fixed right before Thanksgiving and Christmas pictures. I was pretty bummed out about it, but in the middle of the night I realized that not many people are going to see me before then. Even with the slight discoloration in the one tooth, they really do look fantastic.

Cocker Spaniel Beauty

Posted by Pyrrh on April 20th, 2010

Took Asha (our Cocker Spaniel) to get groomed and vaccined today. Amazingly they didn’t find any extra problems this year. The groomer said her ears were a bit dirty, but apparently not bad enough for the vet to say anything. She isn’t quite as plump as she was last year, either. She wasn’t very cooperative in going into the vet nor going back into the yard, though. Maybe it is just because she is getting older

Tired Day

Posted by Pyrrh on April 19th, 2010

Slept well, felt pretty good, got my morning chores done, then felt very tired all of a sudden. I didn’t accomplish a lot after that, but managed to do a bit of internet research for my blog. I watched the new Star Trek movie and had a long nap. This evening I took Dot outside for a few minutes while I weeded the rosemary patch. I need to put newspaper and mulch down – that will make it much easier to maintain. We need to clean up the beds next to the house, too. I just didn’t have the energy to work on the herb garden today. Grandma gave Dot a bath, then I watched House and 24, both of which were pretty good.

Gardening indoors and out

Posted by Pyrrh on April 18th, 2010

This evening, I got the indoor gardens fed and watered, and Bobby worked on prepping the herb garden some more. He tied stakes to measure off where the plants will go along the fence line, and placed the stepping stones that we had. It is starting to look great! This week I will try to get the rest of the grass and weeds out along one side, and dig in some mulch where the plants will go.
